House Rules

House rules:
Resilience downgrades lethal to bashing. Location and Security cannot be bought as a haven merit and have to be represented in backstory or roleplay. No Iltani, En or Caporetti. Seriously think about buying status or extra languages since you’ve lived for a long time. We are using the advantages from Danse Macabre for the Invictus and the Commonwealth of Carthage instead of just merits cost half. Please note that Dubai has the Commonwealth instead of the regular Carthian movement, but not the Prima Invicta instead of the Invictus (we’re just using their awesome advantages).
Invictus status:
1: You gain a free Specialty in Politics or Subterfuge (choose one).
3: Buying dots in either the Dominate or Majesty Disciplines costs less now due to the fact that the conspiracy has so many within the group willing to teach: the cost is new dots x 4 if the Discipline is in-clan, and new dots x 5 if the Discipline is out-of-clan.
5: At this stage, the world is the vampire’s bloodfilled oyster. She can have pretty much anything she wants with minimal effort: any Social Merits now cost 1 experience point per dot. No multiplication necessary: going from four dots in Resources to five dots would cost, yes, just one little experience point.
Commonwealth Status:
1: One dot of Status gives the vampire one automatic dot of Herd; the Commonwealth wants to “integrate” its vampires with a mortal herd as early as possible.
3: The city planner is now willing to help the character find a better Haven—any Haven Merit dots bought for a brand new Haven cost half the experience points that it normally would (round up).
5: Your proximity to human beings allows you to buy back Humanity dots more cheaply: new dots x 2, now. (The Storyteller must find this buy-back appropriate,
however.)

Character creation:
Spend starting dots as normal (don’t raise BP using merit points), then raise Blood Potency to 5. You don’t get the usual 15 bonus xp from character creation rules, instead use the following system: Add 7 attribute dots, 15 skill dots, 21 merits dots (these dots CAN be used to raise BP, maximum of 7) and 13 discipline dots (6 of these have to be in-clan or bloodline disciplines). Remember that attributes and skills at five dots and more take two dots to buy at character creation (not disciplines though). Humanity can be whatever you want, no bonus xp for lower humanity. Everyone gets one derangement. You get 25 xp to spend on devotions only, left over xp is lost.
