Dark nights in Dubai
Temple of Andraste
The Dubai incarnation of the Circle of the Crone is also known as the Temple of Andraste. Andraste herself is the supposed hierophant of the cirlce, but hasn’t been seen in decades. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, they say, and this is certainly the case in Dubai. Andraste went from a well-loved memory to a myth in the minds of the acolytes. Nowadays, the only ones left who actually knew Andraste in the days she walked among the acolytes are Haqim al Yuffar and Rebekah Ben-David. They claim Andraste is still alive and it is they who relay her commands to the circle.
The other covenants scoff at the idea of an absent elder leading the Circle. They say Haqim and Rebekah have fooled the acolytes into following them while Andraste is either death or in torpor. The acolytes claim the other covenants are foolish. They Andraste will return and sweep the others away in a tide of blood.
Besides Andraste, the Circle in Dubai worships Ereshkigal as an incarnation of the Crone. Ereshkigal is the goddess of the underworld. She is a sister of Ishtar and the wife of Nergal, the plaguelord.
